Breckenridge, ColoradoWondering what life would be like if you lived in Breckenridge? Most of you know of the many outdoor activities that can be participated in while in Breckenridge, but the best thing about this place is that the town offers something for everyone in the entire family. In conjunction with the rest of Summit County, you will never be without something to do or if you choose do nothing at all. One of my favorite things to do, and I have lived here for over 5 years, is to take a stroll down Historic Main Street. Even though the old buildings have been converted into modern shops, I still can feel a sense of what life was like in the old mining days. A stop in the Historic museum on Main Street will help educate and bring you back to a time where gold was king and skiing was transportation. Now with over 200 shops offering everything from unique kitchen attire to quaint bookshops, Breckenridge is an all day experience. Wake up early to the crisp fresh air and stop at one of the many coffee shops throughout town. If you are right on Main St, you might want to grab a homemade pastry and latte at Clint’s. If looking for the smaller out of the way coffee shop with relaxing couches and fantastic views, you will want to go to Mountain Java located on French street near the Hearthstone. As lunch time approaches, there are numerous selections of dining options. If you are on a budget and would like a tasty quick meal head to the Deli on North Main St. or a favorite sit down spot for locals is Rasta Pasta. A seat outside by the river is ideal. Perhaps a beer and burger is what you crave, check out Kenosha with their oversized deck and impeccable views. Everyone will enjoy all the nicks and crannies that can be discovered in Breckenridge. When the sun goes down, Breckenridge lights up the night with live music, dancing, movies, festivals, fabulous food, and lots of fun! My personal favorite place to eat is at Café Alpine. A seat at the Tapas bar lets you interact with others while enjoying great food and wine. The South Ridge Seafood Grill is another hot spot with a more intimate setting. Speakeasy offers high quality independent films that cannot be seen everywhere and the energy of the Backstage live theatre will intrigue and inspire. There is always something happening in Breckenridge latenight. Some may prefer to have a handcrafted beer at the Breckenridge Brewery or have some exotic martini at Cecilia’s. If you are looking for some late night grub, Eric’s serves up pizza till late. Off the beaten path, the Brown is a unique bar setting with velvet wallpaper in an old hotel and the bar at the Saint Bernard is worth the stop for a drink. Whatever your pleasure, nightlife in Breckenridge is Top Notch! |
