Breckenridge Weather
Perhaps one of the most interesting things about living in the mountains is the weather. While I could be experiencing a huge snowstorm at my home just outside Breckenridge, my friends over Swan Mountain, in Summit Cove, are enjoying sunshine and blue skies. Frisco could be drenched with rain; meanwhile Dillon is seeing only rainbows. You just never know what weather is waiting for you over a mountain pass. One might enter the Eisenhower Tunnel with sunshine and exit with clouds. The simple solution: be prepared. Wear layers, pack a raincoat, and don't assume anything. In the middle of January it is more likely that it will be warmer during a cloudy storm than on a blue sky, sunny day. The reason being, the clouds help hold heat closer to the earth. And though 28 degrees, our average temperature in winter, may not feel that warm to some, when you compare it to 28 degrees below zero it feels pretty nice.
