Searle Pass
Searle Pass – This is one pass that is easily accessed by hiking or mountain biking. Located near Copper Mountain, the trail to access this pass is absolutely beautiful. The trail is well marked with cairns and the final approach to the pass is rocky and rough but again well marked. Searle Pass is a notch that tends to channel and increase the wind to bothersome levels, however the views of Tenmile and Gore Ranges are spectacular. To access Searle Pass head up to Copper Mountain, from the paved bike path heading up to Vail Pass, turn off left about 1 mile up the path right past a wooden bridge. There are many old mining ruins along the Colorado Trail which head up and over Searle Pass. The only access to this area is with non-motorized vehicles.
