Lake LoopLake Loop The distance is 18 miles with a variety of climbs and descents. One section of this ride shares the road with other cars so use caution. Plans are in the works to continue the paved bike path over Swan Mountain Road but has not yet begun. Start at the east end of Frisco Main Street next to the Marina. This section of path passes the Frisco Cemetery, Ten-Mile River outlet, the Summit Middle School and marshlands with views of Lake Dillon. (For more description read Frisco to Keystone ride). At the intersection of Swan Mountain Road take a right and head up the road. Looking to your right you will see some amazing real estate perched upon the cliff overlooking the lake. Once at the top of the road, a parking area that takes you to the spectacular view at Sapphire point. Get ready for the downhill with windy turns and intense speed. At the bottom pass through the stoplight to resume the bike path behind the Summit High School. The path climbs a hill through the woods passes around Bill’s Ranch. A straightaway with numerous turn-offs to the right including Miner’s Creek Road, 2nd and 7th streets lead to Frisco Main Street and the Marina. Congratulations, the loop was a success! |
