Ten Mile Canyon - Rock Head west on I-70 toward Copper Mountain you will see many climbing area in this canyon. The first climbing area is at Mount Royal. Many of the rocks are loose and ready to fall, so use extreme caution when climbing in this area. Approach to this area is at the beginning of the Frisco Park and Ride bike path entrance. Bushwhack through the trees to the base of the rocks. The dome area is a bit safer and perfect for the beginner/intermediate trad climber. To find this spot, pass the West Frisco Exit and head about .3 miles to a small clearing off the highway. Pull far off the road and look for rock piles (cairns) that guide you up the hill to the base of the rock.
