Loveland Pass - Unique Excursion
People from everywhere enjoy the high altitude environment found at the top of Loveland pass. If you are out for a stroll in your car or looking for some backcountry skiing or hiking, Loveland pass offers it all. From the top is a moderate hike to Grays and Tories, both 14,000-foot mountaintops. Directions to Loveland Pass: From I-70, exit the Loveland Pass exit right before the Eisenhower tunnel. From Silverthorne, take route 6 through Keystone to the Loveland Pass summit. Park in the marked area on your right and cross the street where you can begin your hike. As you continue along the ridgeline you will come upon a fork. You can travel either direction. Loveland pass is part of the Continental Divide. The weather can change drastically so make sure you dress appropriately at this high altitude. The steps will lead to a ridge that follows the Continental Divide.
