Maintenance and Technology Fund - Improvements to Four School Buildings3A (Mill Levy) Continuing the Special Building, Maintenance and Technology Fund The monies used to pay for the main te nance and upkeep of the district’s school buildings and for technology improvements comes from a tax known as the Special Building, Maintenance and Technology Fund Tax. This tax was passed in 2001 by voters in the Summit School District and this De cem ber com pletes the three-year cycle of this tax. An elec tion is required if the tax is to continue for another three years. 3B (Bond Issue) Pursuing High Priority Renovations and Improvements to Four School Build ings High priority renovations and improvements are necessary at four of the dis trict’s school buildings: Summit Middle School, Frisco Elementary, Summit High School and the old Silverthorne Elementary School. The school district will put on the November 2004 ballot a 20-year bond issue to build and pay for these renovations and im prove ments. The largest percentage of the bond proceeds will be used to renovate the 40-year-old Summit Middle School, making the facility much more efficient to operate and maintain. Repairs and renovations will also be undertaken at Frisco Elementary and Summit High School. A new addition to Summit High School will also be built to house new Career and Technical Education programs. For more details Read the entire campaign paper |
