Fishing on the Colorado River (Below Parshall)This section of the river is running low and clear. Normally you will find rainbows and browns. Usually the Salmonfly hatch occurs when the river is blown out by runoff and the water hits 56 degrees. (Glenwood to Rifle) Spring runoff through Glenwood is muddy and often cloudy making fishing difficult. Use streamers and big stoneflies in the soft pockets and edges along the banks. (Near Granby) The section of the river is fishing well with a lower run off than the previous year. Some of the flies you can use at this section are Nymphs, Midges, Caddis, Olive Duns, and Blue Wing Olives. Dry /Dropper rigs, egg patterns and Woolly Buggers all catch fish. |
