Hiking Grays and TorreysLooking to accomplish two 14,000+ mountains that are easily climbed in one day then this is the hike for you. Drive west on I-70 and exit at Bakerville #221. From there continue south on a well-maintained dirt road toward Steven’s Gulch. At the end of the road you will find a parking area and the trailhead. The trail will pass over a bridge and proceed toward the mountain tops. The trail continues to climb and switchbacks upward. The trail is wide and very easy to follow so please respect the environment and stay on the main trail and avoid the shortcuts. You will notice a cut-off to Torreys Peak. At this point you can either complete Grays first or go to Torreys and come back and climb grays. These two peaks are climbed many times during the summer by visitors. Make sure you bring enough water and snacks for these hikes are at high altitude! Enjoy the views before you wander back down the hill. |
