Royal Gorge - Arkansas Royal Gorge This section of the Arkansas is a popular Whitewater experience. The river is about 8.7 miles in length and is a Class III-IV difficulty. The Gorge itself is beautiful and if you look up you can see tourists overlooking from high above at the amusement park. The section of the river is a pool drop format and boasts big waves. At high water this whitewater run is extremely fun! The run ends in Canon City and begins on Hwy 50 at the Parkdale pull off. If you are looking for a challenging and exciting whitewater run, this is it!
